Places to Launch Your Side Project

1. Product Hunt Obviously
Its like the gateway drug for side projects. You get to launch your side project in front of a community of makers, designers, and developers.
Although, PH is not what it used to be, there's a very high chance that your project will not get featured, but hey a free backlink is a free backlink.

2. Twitter (/X ugh)
- Make a really good and compelling tweet, and make a real good video to make an impression.
- Use targeted Twitter searches. Here's my simple formula I tried:
"nuxt" "awesome"
https://x.com/search?q=%22nuxt%22%20%22awesome%22&src=recent_search_click
This surfaces people actively discussing and interested in your niche. You will definitely find some issue or problem that you can solve by commenting your product.
3. Reddit (Be ready for trolls)
Great place to get feedback and initial users. Note that Reddit is a very different place than your usual social media, people here will be super rude. Best not to take it too seriously. Just be yourself and dont get into flame wars.
Requires thick skin but can deliver solid results. Key subreddits to consider:
- r/startups
- r/sideproject (Personal favorite)
- r/EntrepreneurRideAlong
- r/SaaS
4. HackerNews
Tough to crack, but if you do, you will get a lot of traffic. People here are very smart and will call you out if its not good, but this also means very good feedback, even better if people like it.

5. Uneed
A more small biz and indie hacker friendly place to launch your side projects. You get a good amount of genuine traffic from Uneed and its made by a fellow independant developer.
